At Elkdale, we believe that God's desire for us is to see changed lives and real relationships through the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. As we pursue this vision, we are convinced that scripture calls us to enter into membership with one another.
Membership at Elkdale comes with meaningful benefits and real responsibilities. As we hold one another accountable to gather, grow, give, and go, we believe that God will honor our faithfulness by growing us closer to one another and closer to Him. There are four steps for membership:
1. Attend an Explore Elkdale class.
Every few months (usually on a Sunday Evening), we schedule an Explore Elkdale class where Pastor Cory will go over the story of Elkdale, our beliefs, structure, and what it means to be a member. If you're interested in membership, this is a great first step that requires no commitment.
2. Meet with a pastor.
These meetings are informal and allow our pastors to get to know you, how you came to know Jesus, and talk through what it means to be a member.
3. Sign the church covenant.
Our church covenant outlines the benefits and responsibilities of membership. All members affirm and sign this document in order to commit to be an integral part of our faith family.
4. Be affirmed by the church in a Members' Meeting.
Every few months, all members are asked to meet on a Sunday evening to deal with family matters, worship together, and take in new members. Elkdale votes on all membership candidates in this celebretory and moving part of church-life.
